The Peanut Gallery offers infant care starting at 6 weeks of age, and our infant / toddler programs range extend through the age two. An infant or toddler must first accept and trust a new adult in their world. The caring attentiveness of our Caregivers allows your child to be happy away from the intimate contact of the family. By providing an atmosphere that is physically safe and emotionally warm your child will feel secure.

The Peanut Gallery provides a changing environment for our infants and toddlers. Activity centers that include large and small motor opportunities, language and music activities as well as sensory, buggy rides and outdoor play will fill every day. Your child's learning success is assured by simple activities that match developmental ability level and provide foundations for later, more complex skills. The transition from infants to our toddler program is full of exciting changes. Infants move from cribs, to mats, bottles to cups, two naps to one nap, and begin daily outdoor play. Our infants visit our toddler program for several days so that we can ensure a successful transition.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need to provide for my child and what does the school to provide?

In the infant classroom parents are responsible for providing all of their child's food, formula, diapers and wipes. Bottles will need to be brought daily. Most parents like to keep weeks supply of jar food, cereal and diapers at the center so they do not have to bring them each day.

Wipes are brought monthly. When your child begins "table food" we provide a daily hot lunch and morning and afternoon snacks. Table food typically happens sometime after one year of age.

Will my child have their own crib or mat?

Yes each infant will have their own crib that parents can decorate. We do provide crib sheets but ask the parents to take an active role and make their child's crib their own. When your child enters the toddler program mats are used. Parents are encouraged to bring a small pillow and blanket for use at naptime

What type of activities do you offer?

The Peanut Gallery's goal is to provide a safe stimulating environment. We offer a wide range of activities such as bouncers, pull up stations, soft centers, books and music. All of the classrooms are visually stimulating with bright colors and sensory activities are part of every day.

What kind of qualification do you look for in your staff?

All-Peanut Gallery employees meet and often exceed the necessary qualification as established by the State for licensed childcare centers. On a continual basis The Peanut Gallery provides on-going training for every staff member. The most important thing we look for in our staff members is patience, kindness and the love of children.

How will I know how my child is doing?

The Peanut Gallery firmly believes that communication is the "key" to quality child care. We take great care in guaranteeing an effective parent/teacher "partnership". In addition to direct contact with your classroom teacher and center director we provide daily reports in infants, bi-monthly newsletters, and monthly calendars. Our ‘open door’ concept allows parents to come at any time and interact with their child and the classroom program. Periodically we hold an "Open House" evening, which provides an excellent opportunity for parents to explore the center and meet all our staff.

Will I be able to breastfeed my infant at the center

Mothers are welcome to breastfeed at our center. Each nursery is equipped with two rocking chairs for your comfort. The Peanut Gallery works hand in hand with our nursing moms. It is suggested that mom provide us with bottles of supplement or pumped breast milk. This is beneficial if for some reason mom is delayed, we can offer an ounce or two while waiting.
