The Peanut
Gallery's preschool program is
designed for children three
to five years of age. This multi-age grouping promotes
children to work within their own developmental level. The
reasoning behind multi-ages is that each child develops at
different rates. This concept allows child to move ahead in
areas they have mastered and work more slowly on the areas
of development they still need to work on.
All of our
classrooms are open concept and promote choices. Each room
is center based and includes a reading center, dramatic
play area, manipulative center, art center, block center and
computer learning lab. High Reach Learning develops our
award-winning curriculum each month. This theme-biased
program promotes a strong foundation by preparing the early
childhood student for success in kindergarten and beyond.
The hands on activities keep children actively involved as
they learn to recognize letters, explore beginning sounds,
understand number concepts and develop a positive character
traits. The Peanut Gallery offers at no extra charge
to our parents a weekly music and Spanish program. To
promote good large motor skills
The Peanut Gallery also
offers a gymnastics program available for children 3 to 5
years of age.
Frequently asked questions
|
What do I need to provide for my
child and what does the school provide?
|
In the preschool classrooms parents, are
responsible for providing a naptime blanket and any needed
activity items as indicated and provided to you in the form
of a monthly calendar of events. Often to complete our
curriculum we require children to bring items from home such
as a milk jug, paper towel roll, an old T-shirt etc… The
Peanut Gallery provides your child with a daily hot lunch
each day, and morning and afternoon snacks. If you would
like your child to eat breakfast at the center this is an
additional cost of $1 per breakfast.
|
What type of activities do you
offer?
|
The Peanut Gallery's goal is to provide a
safe, stimulating environment. In addition to our ZooPhonics
Learning Curriculum we offer a wide range of activities such
as music, language and gross-motor activities. At no
additional cost to our parents we also offer weekly Spanish
and music lessons. In addition all of the classrooms are
bright and visually stimulating.

What kind of qualifications do you
look for in your staff?
|
All Peanut Gallery employees meet and
often exceed the necessary qualifications as established by
the State for licensed childcare centers. On a continual
basis The Peanut Gallery provides on-going training for
every staff member. The most important thing we look for in
our staff members is patience, kindness and the love of
children.
|
How will I know how my child is
doing?
|
The Peanut Gallery firmly believes that
communication is the "key" to an early childhood
learning program.
We take great care in guaranteeing an effective
parent/teacher "partnership". In addition to
direct contact with your classroom teacher and center
director we encourage our parents to be informed by
providing parent information boards that offer current
information about our learning programs such as ZooPhonics,
Math Their Way and Early Literacy. Yearly
month-to-month matrix schedules monthly calendars and
quarterly newsletters are all tools of our parent
communication process. Our open door
concept allows parents to come at any time into the classroom.
Periodically we hold an "Open House" evening,
which provides an excellent opportunity for parents to
explore the center and meet all our staff.
|
How will you discipline my child?
|
The Peanut Gallery believes that the most appropriate
from of discipline is positive guidance and re-direction.
When inappropriate behavior occurs, it is corrected through
explanations, redirection and diversionary techniques.
Guidance is carried out in a non-threatening, positive
manner that is appropriate to the child's level of
development.
